Sustainable Awards, Certifications and Partnerships

AWARDS . . . We are grateful for the recognition we’ve been given by many distinguished bodies, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, PETA, the State of California and the Green Patriot 100.

In 2008, our company was awarded Champion Status by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative.  SDSI recognizes environmental leaders who voluntarily commit to the use of safer surfactants; Champion Status is the highest level of recognition.

 

 

Our California facility was awarded California’s Governor’s Environmental Economic Leadership Award. The GEELA award is California’s highest environmental honor, given for exceptional leadership and notable voluntary contributions in protecting the environment and conserving California’s precious resources.

In 2009, Earth Friendly Products was awarded a place in the Green Patriot’s 100. Green Patriot 100 companies are taking important, powerful steps in reducing greenhouse emissions, educating consumers about sustainability, and setting examples of green innovation and corporate responsibility. 

Earth Friendly Products was awarded PETA’s Proggy Award for “Best Line of Cruelty-Free Household Products”. The Proggy Award is given for innovative and animal-friendly achievements. PETA “applauds EFP for their initiative, creativity, passion and desire to make a difference.”

The parents and readers of KIWI Magazine awarded us their coveted Reader’s Choice for Best Natural Pet Products.

CERTIFICATIONS . . . Over 17 products manufactured by Earth Friendly Products are certified by specialized U.S. departments, so purchasers can be quite sure that our products are all we claim to be.

The USDA’s Biobased Certification: The USDA’s Biopreferred program aims to increase the use of biobased products, reduce petroleum consumption and better manage the carbon cycle. These products currently carry USDA Biobased Certification): Pet Dander-Out, Window Cleaner Vinegar, Window Cleaner Lavender, Orange Plus Complete, Orange Plus Concentrate, Orange Plus RTU, Stainless Steel Cleaner, Stain & Odor Remover, Carpet Shampoo, Dishmate Almond, Dishmate Lavender, Dishmate Free & Clear, Dishmate Apricot, Dishmate Pear, Dishmate Grapefruit, Creamy Cleanser, Floor Cleaner, Duo Dish, Furniture Polish, Shower Cleaner, Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Delicate Wash, Baby Laundry Soap, and Ecos Liquid Laundry Detergent.

The Environmental Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment Certification: The EPA’s DfE certification is awarded to companies that meet stringent criteria for human and environmental health; using DfE-certified products can protect the environment, as well as your family’s health.  The following products are currently EPA DfE certified: Parsley Plus All Purpose Cleaner, Creamy Cleanser, Stain & Odor Remover, Orange Plus Ready-to-Use All Purpose Cleaner, Wave Gel Free & Clear, Wave Gel Lavender, Carpet Shampoo, Dishmate Almond, Dishmate Lavender, Dishmate Free & Clear, Dishmate Apricot, Dishmate  Pear, Dishmate Grapefruit, Stone Countertop Cleaner, Hand Soap Lavender, Hand Soap Lemongrass, Ecos (all scents including Free & Clear), EcoBreeze Lemongrass, Stainless Steel Polish, Toilet Bowl Cleaner, and Window Cleaner Lavender.

PARTNERSHIPS. . . .

In partnering with Healthy Child Healthy World and the Silent Spring Institute, we aim to raise awareness of the health and environmental issues that imperil our futures.

Silent Spring Institute: The institute builds on a unique partnership of scientists, physicians, public health advocates and community activists to identify and break the links between the environment and women’s health, especially breast cancer.

Healthy Child Healthy World: The Healthy Child Healthy World movement empowers parents to protect children from harmful chemicals.

The Environmental Protection Agency’s WasteWise program: Our Garden Grove, CA. manufacturing facility has been named a WasteWise Partner by the EPA.

The Environmental Protection Agency has named Earth Friendly Products a ‘Green Power Partner’for  implementing solar power in four of five facilities.  Specifically, for reducing . . . “the risks associated with climate change by supporting technologies that are more sustainable for businesses and communities.”
